The winch to pull the spare up, into its stock location under the van. Remember the old days? Or did your van come with a rear mounted spare?

Now it makes sense. Thanks. All I could think of was the tire winch on a big Mog type vehicle. My SMB came with the Aluminus mount to begin with. I always plugged my puncture flats on the trail rather than hoisting the tire off of the rack.

I got a spare one, in Houston TX. Probably cheaper to ship from SanFran to Reno though.

I threw mine out when I got rid of the stock jack and bought a hydraulic jack, only to realize the second purpose for them. You can order them from the Ford parts department...
