3rd gen (75-91) van thread

Just making a thread to see if there is any interest for those of us with 3rd gen vans to post resources, ideas or questions. 2wd/4wd, SMB or non. So long as it is 3rd gen specific.

Just my $0.02 worth but as a cranky old man maybe that's okay anyway?

Everytime another of these "generation" threads or questions arise it seems to become a bit of a mess since there are significant differences in the years affected. Trying to lump 16 years of any vehicle under continuing production seems at best a crap shoot.

To me--and maybe only me---specifying the year and chassis along with fuel type tends to be most helpful. Saying "I have a 3rd generation whoosiewhatzit." tends to raise the question year, make, model, chassis and fuel type anyway.

It might seem useful to some and it very well could be---perhaps I'm just too anal?

Carry on!

Well, I think people can differentiate the years within their posts. There are a lot of commonalities within the 3rd gen range though. I just thought it might be nice to have a resource for people with older vans because 80% of what gets posted for 92+ vans doesn't apply.

If not interested, then skip the thread.

75-91 Thread

I would welcome such a thread.

I have two of these vans -- an '81 Club Wagon Shorty (four-on-the-floor) and an '87 Sportsmobile RB (Texas-built). Both are used as "daily drivers".
