4X4 DRIVER TRAINING CLASS

I took a two day class with Badlands Off-Road Adventures "Getting Started off-Road Driving clinic (day 1) and Basic off-road Driving Clinic (day 2)" given at Hungry Valley State Recreational Vehicle Area. It was a great class. Tom Severin is a knowledgable, patient and experienced teacher and has had Sportsmobiles and other large 4X4s in his class before. I could not believe what my SMB could do! STREIGHT UP THAT HILL! I learned so much and got a lot of practice. He offers a large array of classes and trips. 4X4training.com 310-374-8047

Bill Burk is offering "Big Rig Adventure" 2 1/2 days training classes for full size 4X4s in AZ in March and in Mohab in May. He e mailed me about them and said they would be suitable for my SMB. I may sign up for one of them.

Re: 4X4 DRIVER TRAINING CLASS

Haven't had the pleasure of Tom's classes, but I have taken a number of classes and one multi-day trip with Bill Burke. He's good people, and get's paid to wheel more days in one year, than most of us will do in a lifetime. (green with jealousy).

Re: 4X4 DRIVER TRAINING CLASS

Right on good deal! Been to Hungry Valley and done the 4x4 course many times. Glad you hit it up and glad that you found what your rig could do. Hope to see you on the trail sometime.

Thanks for this info. I've been searching for a class of this sort that is doable for an SMB and was not aware of anything near LA. I'll check out both options and likely attend one of these classes in 2009.

That sounds great. I hadn't heard of this before. I'll have to try and work some overtime to take it.

Re: 4X4 DRIVER TRAINING CLASS

Just something to consider, most of Bill's classes are 6-8 vehicles.

If enough of you can agree on a time and place, you can work with Bill and his wife Rachel to schedule your own dedicated class. I'm sure the other instructors out there would do the same thing.

Re: 4X4 DRIVER TRAINING CLASS

I have signed up for the Big Truck Vehicle Training Adventure by Bill Burke in Moab, May 8-10, 2009. Then I will already be in Moab for the 4um meet.

Re: 4X4 DRIVER TRAINING CLASS

I just signed up for Bill Burke's Big Truck Training Adventure in May as well. Sounds like a great class, and we got the second to the last space available.

If anyone else is interested, you can check it out at http://www.bb4wa.com/training/group.htm.
