I've got a Hi-Jet pickup for crashing around the ranch, and my 5' 16" self fits in it fine for the short haul. It gets pretty old sitting in it for very long, but that's not an issue since it can't be made road legal. Getting in and out uses back/neck muscles that I don't normally put into service that way.
Couple points:
The suspension travel is only about 1", which means at least one wheel is off the ground a lot of the time. Not a prob because of the 4X4 and locking diff, but I am continually amazed at how frequently I need to engage them.
I tried a couple of "back door " registration tactics with DMV (SE plates and "implement of husbandry") and was unsuccessful getting it road registered. I don't know of anyone on the internet who has actually completed this task in CA.
Reliable and well built. Parts are cheap(ish) and readily available.
^^^ all it has to have here is DOT approved headlights/lenses. in fact, i just saw a kei truck yesterday driving around setup as a mobile sno-cone vendor.
