Having owned SkiDoo, Polaris and Cat sleds id say start your focus on what is the brand of your local sled shop. You will need to have it worked on and a local shop is key. That said you cant go wrong with most of the newer 800 mtn sleds IF theyve been well maintained. Stay away from heavily modified sleds. If much older than 3-4 yrs old do so research. Definitely a bunch of model year sleds id try to avoid if they havent been well maintained. My last sled was a 13 SkiDoo Summit X 800/163" and it was amazing. Check out snowest.com for way too much info

Local shop? Don't have any that even carry sleds, not so sure I would trust any of them to work on them. I might have to look into that a bit. Im fine with general maintenance and anything obvious thats broke but past that I would need some pros to help. I would think any dealer in power sports so long as they carry the brand would be able to do the work?
It looks like if i was to want to ride inside a national park they would require the sled to be a 4 stroke at the minimum, but I do prefer 2 stroke engines for sleds.
Good stuff to think about, thank you.
