Bug Out Bag... With or Without SMB?

so, when you are setting up a Bug Out bag, do you assume that you will have the SMB handy to take with you? OR do you assume it won't be available?

I would assume not... I mean we're talking worst case, right? Not that I have one, or have ever thought about making one...

Re: Bug Out Bag... With or Without SMB?

That depends. Do you consider your SMB a Bug Out Vehicle (BOV)? If so, here is a list that goes way beyond. Let me rephrase, WAAAAAAAY beyond!

http://www.survivalistssite.com/~canuck ... basics.pdf

With regard to being in the back country wheeling or camping or both, I consider a Bug Out Bag to be my "Oh crap, my rig broke and I have to walk out" bag. Therefore, by definition the SMB is now out of the picture for planning purposes.

A crusty old Marine CH-46 pilot once told me, "Never wear something flying that you wouldn't want to walk home in." I've since applied that to my wheeling adventures...
