Car rant (Volvo S40)

Seems the SMB will be a daily driver for a bit. My wife's 05' Volvo S40 AWD now has trashed both front bearing units and CV joints at 75k miles. The car has never been abused and has mostly highway miles, a pavement queen that gets washed regularly and garaged every day. I already replaced a rear sealed bearing unit earlier this year ($234) doing it myself. What a crappy drivetrain................!
I think i'm mostly pissed that this takes away trip/travel money.

Re: Car rant (Volvo S40)

I feel your pain.

A couple of things to do in the future: Never discuss finances in your vehicles. They will sense your economic situation and then cause the appropriately expensive part to fail in order to use up any and all surplus funds. With newer vehicles with upgraded electronics, don't discuss finances within earshot of the car, and don't use drive up ATMs. They will attempt to do instant cash withdrawals.

Chinese owned car. LOL. That is what I say about ours now every time I hit a bump to hard or accidentally hit the curb. Watch out it will break as it is a Chinese owned car now.
