Great but defiantly spooky picture...
One of my oldest friends lost her house but she and all of her animals are OK...
Hopefully they will stay away from Suzann's sisters house as well...

My crew just got back from a 14 day assignment on the High Park Fire. Astounding fire behavior to say the least. My thoughts go out to all those affected by these devastating fires.
The above photo of my wild land engine was taken while trying to hold the fire at Pengree Park Road.

Re: Colorado on fire (News photos)

Saline,
Thanks a million for your hard work on the high park. 100 plus degrees fighting that fire had to be miserable. That fire is my back yard I can ride single track from my back yard to pingree park as a bird flys we are 6 miles from the fire. My last update it is 93 percent contained as of yesterday and things are looking better every day.
yesterdays update
The High Park Fire is estimated at 87,284 acres, meaning the fire has not grown since June 27th. Containment is now estimated at 93 percent. The estimated containment date is July 1st.

Terrible fires near Pocatello, ID too. We have several SMB friends there.

Re: Colorado on fire (News photos)

The fires have been contained, but not before destroying 66 homes and several out buildings on the southwest edge of town. It wasn't a large fire when you're talking about acreage but the homes were built in the junipers and sagebrush on the hillside. Beautiful area that provided privacy and some seclusion. Lots of deer wandered the neighborhoods (and an occational cougar). I live on the other side of town but I think Stikine lives near where the fires were burning.

I haven't heard yet how it started. Sad it had to burn so many homes before they could get it contained.
