Completely OT: Garage ceiling insulation
I know this is a weird forum to ask this, but since so many of you are handy and most other forums have died off in favor of fb: any one have a good way to insulate a wood truss garage ceiling without doing drywall? I'm leaning towards just stapling in batt - I can get faced R-30, which is at least something. Code would say R-40 and above but it's just the garage.
I've been neglecting the van getting the garage ready for winter and this is the last piece of the puzzle. The ceiling is at 12' which makes it a huge pain to get drywall up that high. I was also wondering about laying something cross ways across the rafters? Might not be very well sealed, but I'm looking for good - not perfect. Heating will be via a combo 220V unit heater and propane salamander.
(Old) Pic of the van in its spot as a reference.
