Someone suggested to try to see fighter jets in Rainbow canyon Death Valley and I know that is close to Panamint Springs, but Google Maps doesnt show me clearly how to get to Rainbow canyon Death Valley...?
Look for Father Crowley Point near the top of the switchbacks on 190 west of Panamint Springs. Note that a jet crashed in the past year and they may have suspended flying there. If they still do fly there the folks at Father Crowley Point can give you info on the best time to see them.
I agree with Lake Hill Road. But note that you cannot drive more than about one van length off it anywhere along its length now. Still worth it after a dinner stop nearby; quiet and little to no traffic. Lots of BLM spots to the south and west.
