The Sur Ron https://lunacycle.com/sur-ron-x-bike-black-edition/ seems to be pretty popular on the motorcycle forums that I frequent. As things transition towards electric power, I can see bikes like this start to get a lot of negative attention. At the end of the day, it IS a motorcycle, not a bicycle, and not an e-assist bicycle. In the current, partially regulated, e-bike world, I think an e-assist mountain bike might be the easiest way to fly under the radar going where bicycles go and avoiding motor vehicle registration and access limitations, but even that is a grey area.

Honda did recently release a new CT125 and if we're honest, it'd be the perfect take-along for the back of a Sportsmobile... assuming your take-along doesn't need to get on the freeway.

No problem, these are all great ideas and I want one of each.

Not nearly the power of this new Vulcan (unfortunately) but the ubco 2x2 is an excellent choice for a lightweight electric camp bike. 130# or so. Can get licensed as well which is nice and allows for on road travel....for the short run to the local corner store, etc. I love mine. Lots of fun. Max of 30mph does create limitations, however.

This upcoming Ubco bike catches my attention, but a little large for dragging along to go camping.
  • 132lbs
  • 50mph top speed
  • 62mi range
  • Full charge 6 hours

When I first saw the bike static I thought, "oh look. how cute..." and then I see the pic with the rider on it and I realize that is not a small bike. You're not tossing that onto a carrier rack.

So it wasn't just me.

Herb, that Ubco is cool but it needs a front fender. Just looks weird without.
