I found this guy while searching for local horses. I baked bread for him and his wife for a few months (my previous side business). Later, he built his dream: a brewery for making beer. A few local restaurants serve it. It's not too bad.

I'm not a big beer fan, but it's cool knowing some local micro-brewers personally.

Re: Favorite Beer

Bringing back an old thread. Although not strictly beer inspired, it's kind of alcohol related and maybe worth a look if you're in the area.
The oldest bars in each state

Of coarse "what is your favorite beer" is always worth posting about since there are always new breweries popping up. One in my town called Dust Bowl is kicking out some good stuff.

Re: Favorite Beer

Mainstream beers I like are Sierra Nevada's IPA or Torpedo, Third Shift Amber, or almost anything by Red Hook.

Since moving here, I have become a big fan of local brews. I don't know how available they are outside the state, though. I like:

Santa Fe Brewing's Happy Camper IPA. Comes only in cans, which is perfect for the Norcold.

http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1683/61149/

Then there's La Cumbre's Elevated IPA. BeerAdvocate gives it a rating of 99. Comes in 4-packs of big cans, and at 7.2% ABV, will get you pretty "elevated".

Marble Brewery has some great ones, too. Talked to one of the owners a while back and they can't make them fast enough, so you might be seeing them in your area soon.

Re: Favorite Beer

Without a doubt for the IPA / Dbl IPA lovers out there, one must look to Vermont's finest...
The Heady Topper http://www.alchemistbeer.com

A close runner up will be Lawson's Finest Liquid http://www.lawsonsfinest.com
and my daily go-to here in Utah fave is Squatter's Hop Rising... http://www.squatters.com

Cheers, all of this chat is making me thirsty. What to crack open??

Re: Favorite Beer

The house brew lately, which is defined as 1. Easy for the wife to grab at the grocery, 2. Relatively cheap and 3. Tasty enough to enjoy and not endure, would have to be Yeungling Black and Tan. It's not craft beer, but it is $11/12 pack and just damn fine house beer. Also, they're selling 4-packs of tall boys in my area for about $4 lately, which puts it squarely in gut rot price range for a much more palatable refreshment. Sorry Western guys, I've never seen Yeungling out there.

I really want to try some Heady Topper but haven't found any locally.
