Favorite Beers

Saw a thread that suggests we have some beer fans in the Sportsmobile forum. Thought I would start a thread to see what everyone's favorite beers are. I'm a self confessed hophead.

Here's my current top five IPA's.

1 - Kern River Citra
2 - Alpine Beer Company Pure Hoppiness
3 - Knee Deep Simtra
4 - Ballast Point Sculpin
5 - Stone Tenth Anniversary Ruination

Re: Favorite Beers

Anything at Second Street Brewery in Santa Fe. You won't drink (willingly) from a bottle again.

Re: Favorite Beers

Well, mine seem pretty basic after Tapatio's rather complex tastes, but here's what makes me happy:

1. Anything from The Snake River Brewery in Jackson.
2. Highland Brewing Cold Mountain Winter Ale.
3. Modelo on draft
4. Polygamy Porter
5. John Smith's Bitter (can't find it here anymore)

1. Henry Weinhart's Private Reserve (introduced in 1978)
2. Mirror Pond Pale Ale
3. Alaskan Amber Ale
4. Flat Tire Pale Ale

Re: Favorite Beers

Busch in the bottle is the best cheap brew of all IMHO

St Pauli Girl (Green) for my last meal, please

I have consumed more than 100,000 cans/bottles of beer in my life, still can't do much with them "brown" beers

Christine is my exact opposite in this area

Iceberg beer. Made from real icebergs and only available on Newfoundland.

Re: Favorite Beers

i rarely consume alcohol anymore. i dont really have a taste for it like i did in my 20's. but there are times where i get a hankerin for it. usually when im on vacation. having said that, im a total noob when it comes to microbrews having never had one that i can recall.

heres my list of beers that i actually like and when it strikes me, i grab em if i can.

bass ale
red stripe
fosters
amstel light
blue moon

someday ill catch up on the microbrew phenom.

the best beer i ever had was more about the experience and environment than the beer itself....black & tans at tobacco bay bermuda.....the guinness has a higher alcohol content overseas apparently lol....good times.

Re: Favorite Beers

1) whatever cold beer is in my hand (especially if someone put it there for me)
2) Stone IPA (any other Stone Brewery beer is guilty by association)
3) Brooklyn Brewery Black Chocolate Stout
4) Alaskan Smoked Porter
5) Bridgeport IPA

Re: Favorite Beers

Don't drink beer much anymore, but my favorite (cheap) beer was Lucky Lager. I used to get a case from Longs Drugs for $1.98 -- I grew up in Northern California and one of their oldest breweries was right nearby. You could always see their sign off hwy 101 while driving to SF. They brewed beer in my neighborhood for over 40 years but finally closed it down sometime around 1980. Things were simple then. Now we have 10,000 brands of beer to choose from.
