Favorite Overlanding/Camping Magazines

I've been laid up for about 2 months and am going nuts. Spring is just around the corner and I want to go camping, but no dice for a while.

Do you have a favorite magazine for overlanding and/or camping?

The obvious and one of the best being Overland Journal, while I’ve found the articles great, they also tend to lean a lot more towards globally inspired travels.
I just recently discovered and got a subscription to Tread Magazine, seems like there’s a good mix of gear reviews and a lot of domestic travel highlights.

Thanks Ref, I subscribe to Overland Journal. I agree, it's a good magazine, with some world travel focus, but I find that inspirational, too. I also subscribed to Outdoorx4. Their latest issue had a cover story on the Site Rim Trail in Utah. I was excited to read that and rushed back to that write-up. Then, I found the rode the trail on bicycles. Not really what I was expecting and a disappointment. Certainly not overlanding or 4x4, but they were outdoors.

Wander, this isn't a magazine but if reading material is needed you might be interested in this book?

https://www.monkeysontheroad.com

Basically follows the trip of a family of three from the SF Bay Area to the tip of South America. I'm only a chapter or two into it, but so far it seems promising...

Hoping you find yourself better and out exploring soon

Thanks Steve C, that looks interesting. I'll check that out. I've followed a few YouTubers on similar journeys and it's always intrigued us.

Thank you, again!

Probably a good time to mention the great books out there if you are a reader rather than a watcher. We've had some great threads on them before.

Travels With Charlie
On the Road
Blue Highways

I recently read a great book by Neil Peart (Rush's former drummer, now deceased) called Ghost Rider. It's a tragic story of loss and rebuilding one's life after losing 2 close family members but is also an awesome travel book, this particular journey is all over N America by motorcycle.

Many of the backcountry adventures books (the full versions) have a lot of interesting text on area history and local plants as well as trail descriptions.

I found this an interesting on line read:

Some of us also have adventure blogs. My site is old but for what it's worth here is the link

Oh, man, I've shared the link about the Death Valley Germans with tons of people over the years. It's an absolutely amazing read! Fasten your seat belt.
