GETTING 4X4 DONE AFTER INITIAL BUILD OF NEW SMB

A side effect of having Salem Kroger do my 4X4 is that the cost will not be figured in each year when I renew my registration. At least that is how I see it now.

That's how I see it also. Vehicle regestration is figured on the orginal purchase price.

SMB can take care of that for you, too.

Huh? What's so funny?

SMB separated the purchase price into two parts and reported a figure less than the total build to the DMV for registration fees. That saved me $$. Isn't that what you are talking about?

The person we bought the SMB through registered our van with the DMV before SMB did the work. This way they only paid about $30k for taxes instead of the $80k mark. So, when we bought it used from them.. we actually paid more in taxes then the original owner!

Jeffery,

I thought you were kidding. Every time I talk to SMBW it seem to cost me because I find out about something more that I want. That is what I thought you were referring to and I just LOL and wondered how you knew..

SMBW will not even know when I will have the 4X4 done by Salem Kroger and it is not on their invoice to the DMV. That is what I meant when I said I am going to save some money.

Adventureduo,

If the SMB is registered at the DMV as a van, getting it insured as a motor home could be a problem. I wonder how your previous owners did it. That is too bad that you got stuck for more money. So much to know/so little time. I cannot wait to use my SMB.
