How much have you used your Sportsmobile?

As of April 1st, we have had our SMB for 18 months. Checking our SMB camping log, we have spent 60 nights in the rig in seven states and one Canadian province, not counting day trips.

That's a pretty good record for two people still working full time and dreaming of retirement, and I think we are getting our money's worth from the rig!

How much are you using your Sportsmobile?

16,000-ish miles
100ish meals
7 states for multiple nights, several revisited
3 propane fillups
2 forum meetups
1 interstate move
took niece to the grand canyon (1st time camping)
took other niece and nephew camping when my brother couldn't make it
(Whose van is better? "Unkies!!")

and I've only had it for a little under 10 months now!

No real log, but I have averaged about 100+ days in 2 years. Short weekend trips are by far the majority.
Most time spent in the Yosemite area.
Week trips to Kaiser Wilderness area and a couple 2 week trips in Death Valley.

Only 30000 miles and about 130 nights camping in the past 3.5 years. Hmmm, time for another road trip!

Warning: do not try dividing vehicle purchase price by number of camping nights.

I've had mine for 18 months and 30m miles. I have gone on 2 six week trips( California and Florida) in each of the winters and one 3 month trip to California and the Utah, Wyoming, Montana area. I have a list a mile long and growing of places I've got to get to!

A better approximation:

(purchase price + cost of upgrades - salvage value) / # of camping nights.

It's even more "affordable" if you subtract out the amount of money hotel or campground stays would have cost you for the same trip.

9 months
11000 miles
~40 nights camping
~20 awesome hot showers (had to get that in there)
well over a hundred meals (it's popular for lunch)
