I don't like to kill them, but have a rule with them: stay outside the van and cabin, and you can have a happy life. Move inside and we have an issue.

And I won't poison, since that can kill the hawks and other predators that eat them as well, which just exacerbates the problem. So traps or the dog it is!

I just spent three nights in the van with no midnight crunch, crunch, crunch, or little mouse turds in the morning. I think Ozzy Osborn drove him out.

I love animals, but the mouse is a really big attack. I usually have to use poison. This is not too humane, but I also cannot sacrifice wiring, pipes and van trim.

I'd forgotten about the little wire munchers, possibly because my latest prevention plan is so effective, well except for the time she wanted to bring one into the van to show us.

Last fall we had a terrible mouse night as well with lots of noise ... tearing things up... tried to catch it, stomp it... no avail. At one point I turned on the light and the mouse was standing on its hind legs clawing at the paper toilet roll... it was hilarious... in a way. The next morning there were bits of toilet paper strewn on the floor. I worried about it nesting somewhere with all that paper, placed 8 traps after getting home, never caught it, never saw more evidence, it must have moved out.... Perhaps the mouse got the message after my wife flung it off the bed and send the mouse flying.... fortunately my wife is not the scaredy type. We now carry 2 snap traps we can place in the van, so we can take action immediately when needed.

I use these in my sheds. They trap mice live so you can decide their fate.

If you've ever ran wiring from the taillights to the interior, there are gaping holes leading from under the van to inside. Haven't had a problem yet with rodents, but it's inevitable and I need to get those holes blocked.

Considering spray foam like my Jeep Wrangler has stock from under the cowl to behind the dash. Maybe shoot some undercoating on it from the outside after foaming. Any better ideas?
