Interesting CNN Video Report on Unicat

$700k for this unit, with others going up to $3m. Very impressive vehicle, however.

I can only begin to imagine how stuck you could get in that. "Hello AAA. Can you send a D9 out to get us?"

its all ok tell you go over a ridge and set its belly on somthing. it has very little clearance for that long of wheelbase.

That's a pretty bold claim. "There's no RV that can follow us". I bet Zeta has a few thought about that statement.

Ummm, in dude's defense, he did say that his rig was designed to operate in the desert. (Boy, I wish I had a desalinator/purifier that could pull six gallons/hour (in daylight) from the desert... yep, you know, desert, where there ain't nothin' to purify) Might be something to look into if ya need a little irrigation down on the ol' artichoke plantation.

Pity the MF that brings one of those to any unpaved East-of-the-Mississippi roads. In ain't called "desert pinstriping" here, it's called destruction. Bettin' that rig doesn't see 500 miles/year of actual use

*mumbles bullshit,bullshit,bullshit*

Re: Interesting CNN Video Report on Unicat

Golly, what could I spend $700,000 on? Oh, I know, how about an RV that is too big for most of the canyons in Death Valley, the Mojave Preserve and a slew of other desert places. But it looks great in public campgrounds. The one I saw in the Valley of Fire looked exactly like a garbage truck. "Hey, honey, I have a great idea . . . let's spend $700,000 on an RV that people mistake for a garbage truck." I'm sure that impresses people.

If I followed him down the Flint Trail to the Maze, I'd be stuck behind him at the first switchback. I guess if you can afford $700k, you can afford to just leave it somewhere and buy another...

Those vehicles crack me up... maybe in Africa... OK Death Valley or possibly similar desert type areas but in the Sierra's? Pavement dude unless you contract a tree crew. Nice though.
