New Field Van $252K

https://gearjunkie.com/events/best-a...expo-west-2021

Field Van, formerly Sportsmobile West, is finally in full production of its awesome widebody E-Series overland adventure vans.
The build starts with a Ford E350 V10 chassis cab van, has a custom stout 4×4 system, and a composite wide-body shell with a pop-top roof. From there, options are nearly limitless, with layouts, camper systems, and off-road upgrades.
As seen here, the Field Van Ford Classic 4×4 Summit S1 camper van will set you back $251,985.

Lol

So it went from $185k to $252k because........?

Inflation is out of control. It doesn't matter that the government will not admit it, it is bonkers and even after the supply chain catches up it isn't going down.

People must be buying them at that price which is absurd.

People are paying well over 6 figures for old Land Cruisers. Too much funny money in America right now.

Garage
Imagine what you could do with a nice used Van purchased for $50-70K, and dumping $80-100k into it...and still come out ahead with $50k left for fuel. Really like those new builds, but simply cheaper to keep what you have and enjoy the hell out of it!

Damn, you could buy a house with land in many places for that amount. That's crazy.....

I could buy a used Earthroamer for less than that.

I don't think I would enjoy owning one, knowing what a poor value it is.

Sorry Sportsmobile, but you've lost me. I know what a Field van is, it's a Sportsmobile so don't bother correcting me.

Insane.

That's crazy. Our 2004 RB50 PH w Quigley and 6.0 was 85K. 8 years later we sold it for 45K and bought a 2013 RB50 Voyager top V10 Quadvan for 135K. It's now another 8 years and the price is almost 100K more?!? Gonna hang onto this one for a while, surely can't afford another at these prices.
