Oh and thank you for your juvenile response. Part of my job here as an Admin is to keep the discussions on track so there is some structure and flow to the discussions, and that does occasionally include pointing out things that people may not want to hear or acknowledge.

Re: NEW Scepter Fuel Containers

Just out of curiosity, those of you deciding to carry extra fuel cans -- do you have the stock 35-gallon fuel tank, or the larger Transferflow?

I don't carry extra, and I have the Transferflow. I know, exactly what you were asking.

Re: NEW Scepter Fuel Containers

I usually try to carry fuel if I'm pulling my trailer. I can carry 2 in the trailer and 4 jerry cans on my bumper but have really never needed that much unless I was boondocked in one area for an extended time. Usually 14 gallons will get me quite far...at least to the next station most of the time. When I took a trip to Zion I thought I would need to pack extra fuel, but never came close to having to use any.

I have the transferflow tank but it is a 37 gallon tank for my V-10 (reading the label off the tank itself). I got the cans for my van and for my motorcycle when I take it with me on my hitch hauler.

Re: NEW Scepter Fuel Containers

I have the 46 gallon tank. But when pulling our travel trailer and poor fuel mileage I need to fill up around 250 miles.
Still with a decent 'reserve', but I don't like the run on the bottom half.
At this time I have not made a location to carry the nato cans.

I was only trying to point out an alternative to the Sceptors which seem to be as rare as the (good) Jerry cans or Nato cans.

FYI

...I have found a way to get my hands on brand-new, never-used Scepter MFCs.

I just acquired enough to keep me happy through the Apocalypse, and I think I have a repeatable process where I can help others get a hold of them.

Re: NEW Scepter Fuel Containers

Well it was CA that ruined it for all of us, ... so the restriction for many of us is that the suppliers cant SHIP or SELL into the US.... In CA is it a possession thing? If you had an old one do you have to get rid of it?

Re: NEW Scepter Fuel Containers

I really don't know what our California Air Gestapo Resource Board is doing about it.
My guess is provided they catch you filling or using it, they can fine you. I doubt one
can be shipped to Ca from a retailer though. As far as using them; Catch me if you can.
