$73,000 USD at current exchange rates. It is a nice little van, though.

Re: New VW 4wd TDI camper van
Hopefully VW has fixed their issue that's been plaguing their latest generation diesel engines. Lots of bad stories about their High Pressure Fuel Pump.
This camper seems a minor conversion (pop top, swivel seats, fold down bench).

Re: New VW 4wd TDI camper van
Whatta beauty.Twin turbo diesel, 4x4 camper--wow. Gorgeous interior. Download the brochure and check out the cabinets.
I see more Eurovan campers on the road than either SMBs or Vanagon Westfalias. Seems to me they were successful for VW...

Re: New VW 4wd TDI camper van
Checkout Australian 4x4 vehicle called TRAKKA JABIRU, this is basically what a sprinter will do. There is also a video.
Does not compare to a US V8.

We had a HPFP failure on our TDI this year at 95,000 miles. Sounded like the fuel pump was going to fly apart in a million pieces. It sort of did too...in the form of metal shavings filling the filter housing. VW replaced the entire fuel system, no cost to us and it's warrantied for an additional 300,000 miles.
It is a very low failure rate overall though. Not much of a concern in my opinion, especially on newer models.
