Once in a Blue Moon sighting in Michigan

Saw the below SMB on M-14 between Ann Arbor and Plymouth this afternoon. In FIVE YEARS this is only the fourth SMB I have seen!! A two tone grey paint job, very smart and the van looked very new.

I can't believe they are so rare in some areas. I saw four 4x4 SMB's in less than an hour yesterday on Highway 26 between Tygh Valley and Sandy!

I've only seen 2 sportsmobiles in our area of Wi. But when traveling in the southwestern states have seen a quite a few. But not many in the northern states.

Re: Once in a Blue Moon sighting in Michigan

In the high camping season, I have seen as many as four a day here in Idaho.

Our town is sort of on the way to a lot of places. . .

This year the numbers are down because we have massive forest fires making the air almost unbreathable.

Re: Once in a Blue Moon sighting in Michigan

For me it seems that I can go weeks or even months sometimes without seeing a single one then if I see one I see at least two on the same day. The most I think I have seen in one day was five (possibly six) and there are quite a few members in the Bay area. I have only seen one in my travels east of the Mississippi and its not like they blend in....

Hardly seen any in Alaska...which is strange as this should be SMB country. Scenic boondocks campsites are abound. Well at least in our short summer.

Re: Once in a Blue Moon sighting in Michigan

There is ONE in Knoxville area, yes one. And I've never seen another near here, unless travelling. I've seen maybe 2 or 3 east of Kansas and about 600 or so west of Kansas. Oh, yeah. I saw Jage in Kansas once, and he still hasn't given me an explanation for not answering the phone. Sheesh.

I've seen exactly three, not counting what I saw at Sportsmobile east when I was there having my top installed.

Re: Once in a Blue Moon sighting in Michigan

Five here! One is a local resident but I have not seen it in several months. Second was a Canadian couple vacationing in the area who were nice enough to show me their rig. Third I passed on I 95 traveling north. Forth passed on the highway going the other direction. I just saw my fifth about two weeks ago. All have been Fords except for the last one which was an older Dodge. Only one has been 4wd.
