Our work truck..

Just figured I throw a pic out of our new toy. Since most people on here appreciate big, heavy mechanical things, here it is.
It's a 2010 Smeal 100' aerial platform with a Spartan Serius 6 person cab.
550 HP Cummins
300 gal. water tank
2000 GPM pump
Weighs in around 72,000lbs
MPG: about 4-6
Also carries a large amount of equipment to break things.

You too can have one for the cool price of $1,000,000.

Re: Our work truck..

watch out for the rear end swong out. I almost totaled a brand new pickup truck when Smeal brought us a mid mount platform for us to demo. I stick with a straight stick or a tiller.

Re: Our work truck..

Sweet. We had a trio of similar equipment from E-One when I was a volunteer - a truck, engine, and pumper-tender. Our fire district still has them, but I'm not part of the "we" anymore. Big toys are fun.

It has some serious badonkadonk and a generous amount of tail swing for sure. We went with the mid-mount for the lower center of gravity and overall height. So far it's been pretty good, except once we did need warranty work done on it, it was like pulling teeth to have Smeal get it done. We spent all summer with no A/C.

Re: Our work truck..

Haven't been to the Grand Junction area in a while, but isn't there like only one building over three stories tall?

As for your warranty work, the company fixed your AC just in time for Winter. Nice.

Re: Our work truck..

So when you list it on this site as a SMB conversion some of the bullet points might be:

Seats 6, sleeps 0
Killer exterior light package
Onboard water storage for the longest expedition
Exterior shower system, including hose
A horn system that will keep the wildlife off the road
Roof access ladder
Custom wheel package but no spare tire

Nice new toy!

Here's hoping you never have to use it.
