I thought there was a thread about unusual comments from non-SMBers but I couldn't find it and I just had to tell about one from today.
I'm driving in town, turning right just as a police officer arrives in the turn bay for oncoming traffic and turns behind me. I'm pretty sure I didn't cut him off and his lights stay off. He follows me to the next intersection where he moves to my left to the turn bay at that corner. We're both 20' from the traffic light when it turns yellow. Being a good driver, esp. when a certain type of car is driving next to me, I stop. As does the squad car.
I don't look his direction at first. When I do he's looking directly at me. We make eye contact. He breaks into a huge smile and give me a thumbs-up for the SMB. I smile back, offer him a thumbs up as well (first time I ever lifted that finger for an officer
), the light changes and we go our separate ways.
