Plaster City Friday night, TDS Saturday

We camped just east of Plaster City Friday night on our way to Yuma, AZ. We parked some distance off the highway and in the morning, the only other vehicle we saw was - a Sportsmobile. A Tan 4X4 towing a trailer with toys cruised right by us and exchanged waves.

Saturday evening we stopped at Tierra del Sol (TDS) and caught the best fireworks display I think I have ever seen - awesome!

Camped that night up at the end of Coachwhip Canyon in the park - always a relaxing place to stay.

This is why we love our SMB.

PLASTER CITY!! Haven't heard that name in a while, We were prerunning a race down there and got chased by A10 warthogs. They would pop out of arroyos and drop down on us. I thought they were having more fun than us, except we had beer. Maybe they did too.

A-10's, those have to be my favorite planes. Well, the AC-130's are right up there too.

Re: Plaster City Friday night, TDS Saturday

On Saturday the 2nd I was across the highway at Arroyo Salada campground. I was staying close to S-22 because I had a bad battery. Normally I would have stayed at Coachwhip. Anyway from Arroyo Salada I heard and saw some very tiny fireworks and the glow to the east barely topping the hills. I though how strange and then went back to drinking my wine and promptly forgot about it. Closure on that! Thanks. I saw one other SMB at Culp Valley on Sunday (dark EB from Santa Cruz). I didn't get his forum name but he said he belonged.
