Re: Retirement!

A spot available in Albuquerque NM too if you are by this way.

Which makes me think: as a member of the BMW MOA for years the club gave out a booklet listing all members who would put up fellow riders with a code for the level of help available, Garage, tools, towing help, camping space shower, bedroom, special interests etc. I used it a few times when on the road and found it great.

I wonder if there's any interest in a similar idea here? Sometimes just a safe protected parking space to pop the top in a strange town can make a huge difference.

I'm there in Jan and looking forward to it. Maybe we'll meet up out somewhere.

That's so great!!! I assume you are going to take I 10 to flordia?
I'm currently in the santa barbra area on my mini drawn out road trip. I reccomend taking highway 1 down as much as you can you'll have an ocean view a good portion of your trip through california.

I hope to see you out there!!

Congrats and enjoy!
Be safe.

A thought for those still among the ranks...
While my wife and I do full time in a large RV we are still working for a few more years. One thing we decided a few years back was to take lots of mini-adventures as often as possible. For us that means taking a Monday through Friday ( : nobody at work misses us till the weekend, well except for our glowing presence : ) nearly every month except November > January. It has really upped our fun-factor and stress is a thing of the past due to having time-in-the-woods on a frequent basis.

Cheers,
Thom

Sounds like a great way to start your permanent holiday. I am ten months into mine and really enjoy not working. Drive safely.

Sounds wonderful. I wish I could retire but I didn't win the $1.5 billion lottery. I'd settle for $1.5 million. Unfortunately, when you are self-employed there is no retirement fund other than what you can stash away here and there.

Have a great time on your Florida trip and many trips to come!

I'm very jealous, in a good way.

Lots of things to see and do between Washington and Florida, with 4 weeks to fill...

I was just dreaming a little the other day, looking at my retirement situation, accounts and pension, age, it's coming up faster than I ever imagined.

Have fun and make it exciting!
