Retirement!
It's official, my wife and I retired yesterday. Now we're ready to really do some trips in our SMB, and hopefully meet a lot of fellow SMB'ers. For our first big trip we're planning to go from Seattle to south Florida for much of the winter. I'm not a big fan of Florida, but my 97 year old mom lives there as well as my siblings. And it's a terrific jumping off point for travel to Central and South America (though not with the SMB, unfortunately). We plan to take the long way there, down the Oregon and California coasts before turning left and heading east. Planning to take month to get there, and maybe 2 months on the way back next spring.
Now that we have the time, we hope to be able to attend the meetups and get to meet all of you in person, that would be a real treat. First round is on us!
Brad & Suzan

Re: Retirement!
Congrats! Only 20+/- years more for me. Crossing the country diagonally you'll have the whole thing at your disposal but I recommend some time in the Smokies in the Fall if you can swing it. My driveway is always open to wayward SMBers, though there are few through here. I can give you some great pointers on quiet, beautiful places. Sorry you have to wind up in Florida.

Re: Retirement!
Congrats! I've always wanted to drive a cross country trip, but my wife cringes at the thought of it. Lucky you get to have your wife as your copilot!

Re: Retirement!
Congratulations Brad and Suzan! Lucky you are to now be retired AND to own a Sportsmobile. Great combination.
My wife and I live in Bellingham, and also just retired. Our Sportsmobile 2015 Sprinter 4x4 is still being built in Fresno, so we don't get it until November. Until then, we continue to tour around in our Westfalia Vanagon.
Maybe we'll see you out there somewhere.

Re: Retirement!
Welcome to the club. Have six months of retirement under my belt. Be prepared to be busier that you have been while working. Hope you have an enjoyable and safe journey.
