This is so sad to hear. What a great guy he will be missed. Praying for peace in his family.

Mike is the reason I have a Sportsmobile. I went camping with him back in 2014 and when I saw him drive up in his van, "Thirsty", I knew immediately that I needed one. He was a master at using search engines on the web and actually found our van for us. My life has been forever improved because of him. He was my camping pal and we could talk about vans endlessly. His girlfriend and my wife would just roll their eyes when the 'talk' began, because they knew that we'd be at it for quite a while.

I met Mike in 1994 when we were both at Center for Creative Studies (now College for Creative Studies) in Detroit. We had many great times together since then and I'm going to miss having him around to talk to and spend time with. He was the most interesting person I've ever known. He was an amazing designer, as has been mentioned, but he was just a great human being as well. Because of his great personality, he leaves behind many, many friends. It's going to take me a long time to get over the loss.

I wanted to add a correction - his IG account is honky_pix in case you want to check it out.

Rest in peace Mike, and I hope I get to see you on the other side.

Oh, shoot, I think I saw some of those published somewhere, once. Amazing out-of-the-box stuff, very retro-future.

Oh man, so sorry and sad to read this. I had numerous chats w Mike around van and other life stuff, often while driving between SF and SoCal. They were always wonderful and memorable.

Peace and condolences to Mike and his friends/family. Wow.

Yup......maybe the concept engine was a V-16.....sounds like it based on the project name....
