Schofield Pass

Has anyone taken Schofield Pass from marble to crested butte? Thinking about heading to gothic valley to mountain bike this weekend and that would put us at the top of the 401 trail on the way in.

I have heard it is a true jeep trail, meant for small 4x4 vehicles.

Thoughts?

Mike

Re: Schofield Pass

It is certainly not a van trail.
I did it in my Jeep XJ and I was towing a tiny trailer with a RTT at the time... It was a very hairy trail. My XJ is quite a bit narrower than my van and even it was right on the edge in a few places. There is very little wiggle room for error there.

You could do the lower half that goes up to the falls quite easily but the upper portion is the tough part.

Thanks. Will head in via Keebler or cottonwood pass.
