We lost our first child, Rudy, a few weeks ago. She had been with us 14 years and was the mother of about 15 pups until we got too busy with our own children. She was with us on many camping trips and we'll miss her!
The Sentry (at a recent Expo meet up)
Chillin' late last summer on the porch after a shave
Last romp in the snow a few weeks back with the kids and sleds
Right before she went to doggy heaven
On a more upbeat note, I had been talking to a breeder for the last several months waiting on the pick of the litter from two of her beautiful Aussies. She called me up
the day we decided to put Rudy down, after we found out she had a big mass in her belly and there wasn't much to be done at 14 years old. It was a strange decision, but we had decided to add another Aussie to the fold months before, having no idea Rudy would be leaving us. Still, the timing was strange but we prefer to think of it as meant to be. So this little guy came along just a day or two later. Yep, weird feelings about it all around but our home is once again filled with puppy joy.
