Thanks for posting. I don't ski Vile... uh... Vail... but that gives me an idea to try talking to that guy since Vile owns Breck and Keystone too. Might be worth a chat.

Rick, not to hijack but I love the ski storage idea you came up with, and the van with the new CCV top looks great!

Ski Overnight Parking in Summit County, CO

Thanks, we love our new top. The ski racks are from rockymounts, a local rack company that has their own line of ski and bike racks. Their ski racks have a cable back instead of the clamp on the Thule or yak, so I was able to wrap the cable around the aluminess lader, works pretty well, but the skis are prone to getting pretty dirty since they're so exposed, nothing a trip to the do it yourself car wash for a high pressure spray.....

Not Summit County but here's sunset at Taos Ski Valley yesterday. Camping is OK there but we left a day early as the overnight temp was forecast at -6 and we were low on propane. On a related topic, all was comfortable in the single digit overnight lows.

Yes, thanks. It's a CCV top (coloradocampervan). Not many pics in my gallery, have to add some. Check out the CCV mid top 1der and rallypanam just put on, pops up just as high but lower profile when down. I came from having a manual lift SMB top to this.

Re: Ski Overnight Parking in Summit County, CO

I'd kind of like to refresh this original thread. I would like to know if anyone had success last year near Breck or Keystone or even Frisco. I don't mind a little drive each morning and night, but would prefer to drive up from Denver on Friday than fight the Saturday/Sunday morning traffic.

I don't really want to stealth camp - or break the law and be hassled. Any advice for camping near a Summit County Ski area would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Ski Overnight Parking in Summit County, CO

I never heard a good solution and never tried last season. I had the exact same thoughts, but never got up there as it turns out.
