Hey Dia, you've probably seen mine in SB. I'm all over the Milpas area, at Trader Joes and around town most days. I live over on Alta Vista Rd.

Re: SMB Sightings

I saw three SMB's on the road today (different times). One I even recognized! I was driving a friend's anonymous station wagon, so waving was somewhat ineffective.

1) John and Mandi's orange SMB, headed south on CA 395 around Conway Summit (just south of Bridgeport).

2) A tan SMB, with PH roof, plus Aluminess box and tire on rear, heading down Virginia Lakes road, west of 395.

3) A white SMB, PH, maybe an EB? Which, IIRC, was parked along 395 in Lee Vining. I may have that wrong though. I guess three in one day was too much for me

Beautiful weather today in a beautiful area, wasn't it?

Re: SMB Sightings

Clearly I'm in SMB country now. Coming down Tioga Pass Road toward Lee Vining earlier today I passed an SMB going up. White, RB, PH top with a red high-lift jack stowed horizontally on the front bumper. (Me in the anonymous station wagon again...)

I wonder what the sharks teeth are about on the back, and the cut away box? Interesting...........

Re: SMB Sightings

Shark teeth? I think those are intended for roof & trunk lid applications to reduce drag. Seems rather optimistic applying them to a brick that travels 65mph.

Cut-out on the box? Maybe to release the spare tire swing away?

Re: SMB Sightings

It looks like the rear box is bolted directly to the door. The cutout would likely be just to reach the door handle?

Re: SMB Sightings

I've seen those "shark teeth" in a similar location on the sides of Class A motorhomes. I think they supposedly reduce drag/increase mileage. I've never researched them to see if they work, or how much they do.

Re: SMB Sightings

Ran into a Bay Area based SMB while in Shenandoah National Park. A rare sighting here on the East Coast. Rig was busy traveling America. Luckily, we all had time for a great chat. Wish them all the best on their journey.
