It wasn't me, but I was in the area this past week. I passed a pre-2008 gold SMB southbound on I-5 on the north side of the Grapevine yesterday. Sorry if you thought my honking was because you were slow (but you were slow).

saw a lot of vans over the weekend.

got on road and saw this gent headed someplace to play. they gave big smiles and waves as we went by.



then rolling through ketchum id we saw a white eb with an opt overland sticker on the side window. couldn't get a pic of that one.

first canyon we pulled into had a desert colored sprinter, but the back half of the canyon was closed due to high bear activity, so we got turned around and found another place to camp.

then at the pullout of the canyon we camped in I saw these two as I was testing out a tune I did on the ladys moto.



the owner of the smb stopped at our camp and chatted for a bit. name was john. nice guy having some issues with his 6.0. I told him to come check out the site since I wasn't a lot of help. hopefully he joins up and the 6.0 experts can help him out.

then pulling into the second nights spot we saw a green lifted 4wd savanna. cameras were buried so we didn't get a pic. I went by their camp on the moto later to say hi and the van was gone. also wasn't there on our way out the next day either, but tent was still setup.

right after leaving camp we saw an older white 4x4 chevy headed towards hailey. cant even count how many sprinter camp vans we saw in the area. sun valley is like a van mecca.

then as we got back into service this pic came up in a text to me....we got spotted leaving town, lol.

Saw a tan SMB with full Aluminess bumpers parked at the Corn Creek launch site for the Main Salmon River. Think it may have had CA plates. We launched on July 3rd.

Followed a nice silver/grey newer Ford van from south of San Luis Obispo through Buellton going towards Santa Barbara last Friday. Lost them in traffic at the turnoff to Gaviota.

Ha, watching the HBO special "The Defiant Ones" about Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre, and I see this old school SMB at the 34:35 minute mark. Talk about unexpected!!

On the ferry to Vancouver Island I met Joe from Kirkland yesterday. He was driving this super clean, sweet rig. It has the full Aluminess package, a Bulletproofed 6.0, solar and more. They were off on a multi week trip around the island. He's a member here, and we talked about Baja in November. What do you think Joe?

Saw this beauty over by the motorcycle shop I go to. Looks like the owner is renting it out. I've considered doing that but don't have time to do all that extra maintenance.
