SMB vs. Mr. Money Mustache

I'm trying to mentally reconcile my SMB love with my desire to FIRE. Anyone else thinking about this stuff?

Re: SMB vs. Mr. Money Mustache

Is that some sort of acronym that I've not heard of?

Re: SMB vs. Mr. Money Mustache

I asked one of my boys in Compton and he ses, "Originated in tha 1970's greenhouse culture.. adapted by urban gangstas, fire now represents some of tha best chronic available."

What is chronic you ask?

"One of the stronger strains of marijuana. It is actually NOT used to describe just any sort of good weed, there is a certain type, usually indica, that is labled chronic. It won 3rd place at the 1994 High Times Cannabis Cup."

So now you are up to speed Jeffrey.

Peace.

But then what would you do without your SMB?

Re: SMB vs. Mr. Money Mustache

IMO, retirement is a journey, not a destination. Life is too short and unpredictable to say "I'm going to work really hard, retire early and then start enjoying life".

Recently, someone I knew from work was lost to pancreatic cancer within about 9 months of diagnosis. A great guy, previously healthy, in good shape, mid-40's.

Not sure if that's the philosophical conundrum you were exploring, but that's my take on life.

Herb

FWIW, I also had no idea what you were talking about with the Money Mustache reference or the FIRE reference. Evidently Steve had his own interpretation....

Re: SMB vs. Mr. Money Mustache

......I think about retiring early about 6 times a day.....slightly less on weekends....and every time I hear a story like the one Herb just posted......

None of the males in my immediate family made it past 64......that's two brothers and my father.....
