Re: SRA's

Well I hope I didn’t offend you or other fine citizens attempting to do a good job for the public. I also work for a government agency...I don't think anybody here is talking about people like you. You're just a cog on the wheel like I am. I'm no expert on how the state runs things but it seems to me it's controlled from the top...at least in this situation. I’m not saying I can’t be wrong, it’s very possible. But at my company I see so much BS going on I can’t see how it’s much different. If you're told to meet a budget...Oh well, you do what you have to. I don't want to make this a political issue but it is what it is. The S**t trickles down but often it stinks to high heaven. When an agency subsidizes other different organizations that aren't working and they are made to supply funds to the other departments that are failing, I don't like that. In this dilemma we're talking SRA's and how the SRA’s are funded, not city or county parks. But when I see city busses that haul one person around town, I don't like that...it aint workin. What’s paying for that? When I see the money being spent on a high speed rail system that will probably be the same, I question the building of such a thing. Now if I’m self centered, let me put my SMB on it so I can transport it down south for a cheaper rate than driving and I'll re-access my opinion, but is that right?. Truck drivers should get a free ride as well. The whole thing comes down to if the SRA’s can support themselves, leave them open…don’t worry about sending funds to other projects.
Let the SRA parks run on their own merit. If the Feds are supplying some funding, I’ll be the first to say it’s not right for other states to keep Ca. parks open unless all the states get the same funding. Like I said, I’m not an expert, only seeing what looks like a scam, a political scam. It’s not a government worker scam. And yes there are several good politicians out there.
At least I didn’t mean to offend anybody except those who try to pull wool over our eyes. Sorry for tha rant.

PLUS, there's a huge difference between a government worker and a politician....

Re: SRA's

All funds collected by a specific agency should remain within that given agency . I have sold to the State Parks for over forty years and see the struggles that they face with trying to budget for the next fiscal year . The Department of Fish and Game faces even greater obstacles they are lucky to see half of the revenues collected for Hunting and Fishing Licenses in any given year . And for the record I have petitioned on numerous occasions for the above agencies to be able to control their own destinies .
