Re: What was a mistake or waste of $$$ on your van?

1. Microwave. Battery hog and never really use it anyways.
2. Stock SMB springs and shocks. Wish an upgrade would have been available at purchase.
3. Small fridge. Should have gotten the biggest fridge available.

Re: What was a mistake or waste of $$$ on your van?

Deminimis, Did sat radio up their rates! I'm Ok with 15 per month. I actually like to hear a person talking when I by myself but I'm sure it depends on who the DJ is. T Petty and B Dillon make my nights. But my 160 G I-Pod kicks butt when I'm with people.

Rob(s)... I kinda like my microwave...not used much but when I do it is nice; I got two 4-D's so the energizer bunny is on board makin popcorn. One thing to mention is the microwave (per SMB)whether I use it much or not, qualifies as an item to classify my rig as an RV because I have no propane cook top. An insurance issue I believe.

Two radios at nearly 300 a year. More royalty fees. Too expensive.

Possible, but I was told I had to meet specific standards that the government required to get a loan for my "RV" (and insurance)...W/O meeting those standard I would not be able to write the purchase off as a second home (RV) and get the IRS write off on my taxes.

Not to hijack this thread but:
never had sat radio, been kinda fun
but the real kicker:
Turns out my wife, from a totally different culture (Thailand)
instantly liked Country and Bluegrass
Go figure
BTW- "Our" road trip tune standard is now, Mr. J Cash, I've been everywhere man!!

Re: What was a mistake or waste of $$$ on your van?

Excuse me if I hijack this thread.
The IRS considers an RV as a second home? I never heard that before.
