Work Video
Last week a buddy I work with was telling me about his possible future son-in-law asking to get a job at our company. Well we are not hiring and he told him to try to start off his career with a contractor cause its usually easier to get a job with them. At least he would get some good free training out of it. Well he got a job very similar what we do but his came with a helicopter. BTW his mom was yelling out at him the other day to get down off that ladder, "you might fall and get hurt".

Re: Work Video
Now that's my kind of work! I'd sign up in a second if they would have me!

Re: Work Video
Even though I used to love to climb, it would take a hot iron to get me up there like I had to do way back when. Guess I'll have to throw out the old "I had to walk through 10 feet of snow to get to school and you little bastards get a helecopter to get up there now days?"
Herb, that's how most of its done these days and they even pull the wire with a chopper. Even though I have a couple years before I retire, I'd love to spend a day doing that provided I don't have to climb but overall General Construction can be rough.

Re: Work Video
I couldn't even get through the first few minutes with the constantly changing camera fades and the annoying rockgut music. Why do video people do that to their viewers? That's why I shoot stills and rarely watch videos of anything. Hey, I'm old!

Re: Work Video
Watching that video didn't help my vertigo at all. I really hate that falling sensation when I'm sitting firmly grounded in a chair.

Re: Work Video
Interesting. I'd seen something similar about how they service the big power lines from the hydro stations in Canada.
I can't help think about the per/hour cost of servicing these towers. It must be close to $10k for each copter team.
