Trip Report

Folks
THANK YOU for all your suggestions

We wound up at Joshua Tree South Entrance BLM Land

Got there NY Eve 3 pm or so

People camped a stones throw from the main road
Car campers to Large Class A's
Not a single SMB

We hung a right, went in about 2 miles got a great spot

Set up camp and tent

Debated on the xtra stakes....
Put all 12 stakes in...

Kodiac Tent
This thing Rocks
STRONG winds, no problem
Watched two tent collapses in the little valley we were in ;-(

Cant say enough good about our Kodiac

Mr. Buddy Heater:
well my first trip with it
WOW far exceeded my expectations
Almost got too hot in tent
Of course did not hold heat but wow, made the trip perfect
Two nites on one green bottle
(we only used before bed and in the morn, not all night)

Just ordered a USB tent fan, will really make Mr. Buddy the bomb for us
while we are Rig-less

Great trip
In two weeks going to the other BLM site posted here

Will try to get some pics up

Best to all

BW and Baby Girl

The desert can be a wonderful place in winter. Glad you found a good spot and enjoyed your trip. When we camped at Sample Meadows with you, my buddy Don used the same heater with good results in his tent. That was almost about 8800 feet IIRC.

Hi BW,
It’s been a long time. I haven’t been on the forum in over a year.

Was that the Berdoo Road you camped on? If so, I saw some nice campsites along there when I was there in November. I tried to enter the park on that road, but could not engage 4WD. I made it to that tight spot about 4 miles in and after pulling someone out I turned around.
Hope all is well.
Steve
