1996 Express Custom DIY Van Build

Hey all, been lurking for awhile but just created an account to join in on the discussion! My wife and I spent six months building out a 1996 Chevy Express high top conversion van, and I thought I'd share the results:

We have detailed posts on how we did everything including insulation, ceiling, flooring, walls, solar, electrical system, building the furniture, etc., over on our blog at

I hope you guys like our build! It's been an incredible amount of work over the past year--selling everything we own, finding a van, building it out, renting out our house, and finally hitting the road indefinitely. It took us a lot to get here, now we're excited for the open road!
