5 Years Full Time Living in my Sportsmobile

I just may be approaching a record. Picked up my rig from SMW on December 15 2015. Drove to my apartment, packed my few boxes and my cat. Rest has been history!

Any other full timers out there?

Awesome another full-timer. After posting I realized it is actually 6 years! How time flies when you are having fun!

Initially it was all new and somewhat fun and exciting. Now its just the way i live, its the norm. I know when i got rid of all my material garbage there was a sense of relief and freedom.

The first couple of years i traveled around, visited every state in the western United States from Chicago west, as well as a handful of states in the eastern portion of the country. Now i just kind of remain stationary since the whole covid thing and the current fuel prices.

What i like best - If i dont like the neighbor i can just move.

What i enjoy least - emptying the holding tanks and maintaining them.

Amazing! I am not a full timer, but I want to be at some point. Currently about 1/3 timer…

Awesome! We full-timed for a year back in 2014 or so. Now we have a kid and that is slightly less feasible.

Can your share more about your cat situation? Do you have a harness and leash?

We just pulled off the road after 7 years, our preference is long term travel. We drove up to Alaska then all the way down to the southern tip of South America before shipping back to the US, that took 4 years. The last 3 years we drove around the US and Mexico with short bouts of being stationary. If we hit the road again we think we'll make a loop from South Africa up the eastern side then back, focusing mostly on wildlife. We're not fond of shipping the rig so we might fly and buy. That's just in the dreaming stage as we replenish our bank account but that's how it started last time.

We've met lots of families on the road. Not saying you should do it but it is very possible.

No. We saved for 7 years then sold everything we owned and quit our jobs to go fulltime. We are now returning to work to start saving again. There are lots of retired folks on the road but lots of non-retired folks too. Some work from the road but it gets in the way we prefer to travel.
