I agree with twoxentrix. I'd fix the rust and make it functional. Once you start using it on dirt and gravel you will damage (scratch, chip, ding) the paint.

I'm in agreement there!...and summer is right around the corner.

If you have a few photos of this rust please post 'em---I once owned a body shop and might be able to help you decide how urgent the pending repair might be.

Will do, Tx JWA. My concern is that some very minor amounts of rust have crept into the seam between the cab and body in that small section on the drivers side i mentioned. That interior bit should probably get looked at and treated (if even necessary) prior to the interior getting done.

Once I see the photos I'm sure I can give you a few ideas.

How much does that rig weigh in 4WD and without the interior built out? It looks way cool, but I always assumed those utility bodies were really heavy.

I haven't got the vehicle on the scale yet and haven't had it in possession since shortly after the purchase so i don't know. I did reach out to Agile to see if it's listed in the door somewhere.
I intend to go light and minimal on the interior build out to keep the weight down as best as possible. That said, it's going to have a 50# awning and ccv top. I'm sure it'll tip the scales.

I was curious too. Looks like #1500-2500. Honestly, I doubt that's much more than the van metal it replaces. I'd be curious to see what a Ford/Chevy cutaway weighs without anything on it but I'm not patient enough to track that info down.

**WEIGHT** Long awaited for...
Complete weight came in at 8380lbs with a rear axle weight of 4440lbs.
Jesus at Agile was able to get it weighed.
