Another Colorado SMB owner

Hi all,

Finally posting. I plan to be a regular to hopefully help others when I can. I bought my 95 2x EB SMB about a year ago to stay in in lieu of commuting 54 mi each way to my new work location. I stay in it 2 to 3 nights/week. It was in good shape when I got it but as you can see from the following I've been tinkering on it regulary (I should have been doing "What did you do to your SMB today" as the list is longer than I realized):

Van projects - In chronolgical order or at least close:
Polished/waxed. Locking gas cap. Tinted windows. Steering wheel cover. Lights under rear bumper. Back up cameras – VR3 from neighbor put under bumper & one that hooks to TV above doors. Extra heavy duty steering stabilizer. Remote start/keyless entry (still need to wire keyless entry). Front bra. 2007 Grille. Hellwig front & rear sway bars, rear sway bar made a huge difference in van handling. Removed closet for more room inside. Painted microwave white, was wood colored and enclosed above closet, now sits on shelf above right rear wheel well. Rear ladder - modified & made brackets so I didn’t need to drill holes in the door, clamps around top & bottom. Rear axle seals. Rear Airlift air bags & on-board compressor. New running boards to replace dented one on passenger’s side. Front fog lights in grille & driving lights under front bumper. New rear step bumper to replace dented one, painted backside to prevent corrosion. Removed front bumper painted backside. Paint frame & receiver hitch. Straighten & paint spare tire mount. Metal plate over rear door where paint cracked from being backed into something by previous owner. Red & argent pinstripes in indentation around van. Rear mud flaps mounted with spring clips so did not have to drill holes. Lower radiator hose. Re-painted rear wheel wells white . New city water sticker & Vent O-ring (from Sportsmobile Texas where van was built). Reflectix wrapped with towels on side & rear windows and plexiglass on inside of 2 small & 1 large camper windows. Gray felt on back side walls in back to cover screw holes where TV enclosure and closet was and on 2 ˝ in shelf facings to cover holes from multiple hooks installed by previous owner. Plastic four shelf kit 48Hx24Wx14D in shower area, using as closet. 30A Female – 15A Male Hubbell adapter. 2 – 14/3 15A 25’ extension cords one to plug into adapter, other for when needed. Synthetic sheepskin seat covers .

Basic living Items:
Bedding, Heated blanket, Heated mattress pad, 120V light, 2 – electric space heaters w/thermostats, bought one and then found another one I liked (It got to warm using ones w/o thermostats), Dynaglow propane space heater and 16oz bottles, carpet mats, silverware, 120/12V 8” TV, 12V oven (small- not used yet), 2 -12V blankets (not used yet), Oil-filled electric radiator heater (Space heaters dehydrated me overnight).

Picture of my van was before running boards were replaced but gives you an idea what it looks like. Also started a gallery last week with more pictures including this one.

Randy

Re: Another Colorado SMB owner

Welcome Randy, Looks like we have pretty similar SMBs and bought at around the same time. Sounds like you are enjoying things as we are.

Cheers!
Ken
