I'll probably play with the plywood idea this weekend....another distraction! I have plenty of scrap. ...and a planer.....and clamps and glue.

I cook outside mostly and think this is a great idea. I am surprised we don't see this more often.

I would really like to see his stealth hook ups and drains.

Re: Came across an interesting layout

yup, and lots of sandpaper.......that plywood glue may be tough on blades, good thing my planer is a crusty old beater.....

xcnick: I have a few stealth hookups and drains. I can post a pic of my shore power; my stealth sink drain is a 3/4" PVC pipe sticking through the floor.....not much to look at.

Re: Came across an interesting layout

I thought about moving my fridge to that location, but the thing that stopped me was how awkward the door/access would be when in the van with the side doors closed. If I had put it in that spot, I probably would have hinged the door on the opposite side. Yeah, you'd have to sort of reach around it when outside, but then you have a bit more wiggle room. They really need to make one that opens both ways! (Yeah, a bit tricky with the gaskets...)

Lots of cool ideas in that van though!

Re: Came across an interesting layout

If the refrig door opens 180 degrees (into his isle-way) I think it would be "ok". Outside access is very good and especially if most your cooking is done outside. On the other hand - I know alot of layouts do it - the floor level refrig is not for us. Getting to old to be genuflecting to a refrig when inside the van.
