Details of the "Apocalypobile"

Yea, I know, where are the pics? Patience Grasshopper, they will come. Here's the poop:

The Good:
'03 E-350 7.3 Diesel EB
SMB 4WD
Unique layout
Seats six, sleeps four
Two leather swivel captian's chairs up front.
Electric PH
American Racing alloys with two matching spares.
Aluminess bumpers F/R
Warn 12,000 winch
Amsoil dual bypass system
Edge Juice with Attitude
Bushwackers
Suburban furnance and propane tank
Rear AC
Two burner stove
Microwave
4cu Norcold
Sink (16.5 gal water)
Grey water tank
Two closets and a slideout pantry
Big a$$ solar panel
Prosine 2000 inverter
Buttload of batteries (one under the hood, a big long marine batt (approx twice the length of a normal batt), and yet another batt under the barn doors).
Isolator with emergency start switch.
CB for mess'n with truckers
Silver (the fastest color)
Got to register it as a "Motor Home." No open container violation if people are drinking in the "living area" while going down the road.

The bad:

Had to register it as a "Motor Home" (that was an extra $200 for two years)
Small dent in lower right rear quarter panel and small dings in the lower back doors from the swingarms. All getting fixed next week while I'm in Baja. Also having the lower rear quarters, lower rear doors and the front leading area of the hood area Rhino coated while I'm gone. Saw it on another Sportsmobile and it looked great.

Cracked windshield. Will have it replaced when I get back or when at the bodyshop while I'm gone.

Top not painted per the previous owner's request. The white top makes it look unfinished. Estimate to paint was very high, so will shoot it myself. I'm a marginal painter at best, but I can keep a wet edge on the narrow sides no problem, so will look good. The top of the top may have some "texture" when I'm done painting it, but oh well.

4x4 disabled by default, but should have it in working order tonight. Replacement hubs finally arrived.

A court recorder told me it reminded her of the van from the "'A' Team". I hated that show.

Are you sure the title is clean? Silver with a white top sounds like one that had a salvage title and all new front end.

Did we go over this already?

That totaled one I think you're thinking about was in Maryland or Mass (Mass I think). That one was a 2000 and a Quigley too boot.

Mine has a spick and span title. No crashes, just a little unkept and nickle and dime stuff (of course, we're not actually talking nickles and dimes). Was repo'd voluntarily (bankruptcy). I spoke at length with the original owner and he had nothing to hide or gain. Totally cool. Got the full history and disclosure from him. Clean car fax too. Also, read every post he ever made on the yahoo group (quite a few). Was able to combine that with what I observed and all matched up. I had sort of a Sportmobile Columbo thing going.

You hated the A Team???? Ahhh, come on! The A Team rocked, simply because it was so campy. Perhaps I'll buy you the back episodes on iTunes for Christmas...

The A-Team rocks.

I love it when a plan comes together.

"If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team."

Steve..... the actor from LOST that died in the underwater station was on Letterman the other day, talking about lizards and the upcoming Wolverine movie, and being a huge A-Team fan he recited from memory the entire beginning-o-the-show monologue from the A-team.

....did you see it?

So hobbits like the A Team?

Now Starsky and Hutch, that was a show. Huggie Bear rocked. But the best of the best had to have been The Rockford Files.
