Express SMB finally complete
Well I haven't posyed in a few months- been busy summer! I still have manged to get the majority of my list knocked out on the SMB.
-Wiring done
-all appliances in and working correctly, had to add several small fans to keep the fidge cooling well.
-Sink, water done
-cabinets, tops, table all finished
-Stereo speakers all in- have not gotten to the head unit yet, thats the last real item on my list.
-Front top rack added for more storage.
Over all really happy with how this one turned out! More useable than the last one- although I will say again, Colorado Camper Van tops are FAR superior to the SMB tops. But the Chevy platform in my opinion is far better than the Ford E350's. Drives FAR better at all speeds and seems to take the weight better wit the long WB.
Few pics of her finished up- I didn't have the upper bed in it when I took the pics, but have that finshed as well.. Sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids without issue.

Yeh, always fun to see what creative ‘options’ people incorporate into their builds. Cool countertops! Must have missed it in another thread, curious how you mounted the roof basket above the cab?

For sure- this is my 3rd van so they are getting better!
The top rack- I didn't want to pentrate the top, so I went with my ole trusty 3M 5200 marine thru hull caulking. This stuff is the real deal- nearly impossible to remove once set.. I secured 3/4 pvc sheet, then made some small brackets to screw into that. After curing for 3 days, I pulled up as hard as I could- it raised the metal on the roof! So I feel good about the connection..

Beautiful cabinets and countertop. What did you use for the wall cladding? And is that a mini split on the passenger side?

Sure looks like it. I'd love to see the outdoor unit mounting.

It's sort of a mini split, it works great for what it is.
I got it off Amazon for 150 bucks- figured it was worth a try. Its just a fan unit as they send it, but I had some hoses and splitters made and ran the a/c lines to it and it works as it should for a rear AC for about 425 bucks.. Hoses and freon cost more than the unit!
Only draw back is that it's ony true AC when the motor is running, otherwise it's a fan..

Nioce! Van looks great. As others have said the counter tops! I have a GMC and a Ford with similar miles. The GMC has had way less issues than the my Ford. Reliability/$ wise. Granted most of my Fords are due to the aftermarket 4x4 conversion work that was done. Just in general though the GMC has had way less hiccups, almost zero on the stock components, and even the interior conversion between the two and it's 14yrs older. I'm always looking out for a GM already outfitted similar to my Ford to swap out. They are just rare, and don't think a I could do a SMB top after having a CCV.
