Hello, new member from Iceland.

Hello my name is Mike and i live in Iceland. I found this site when i was surfing on the internet. I have a 89 Ford E-150.

It has 351w with c6 transmission, np205 and np203 transfercases. 4,88 diffs. dana 44 on the front and 9" ford on the rear diff lockers front and rear. he is now sitting on 42" swampers but the winter tires will be 44" dick cepek tires.

He has 4 seats and a bed in the rear. This car is equpped to travel all the year, from easy summer trips to glacier trips in the winter.

I have owned this van for over a year now, he is in good shape , no major rust that is common in these cars over here. but over the last year i have been working on many small things, wheel bearings leaking problems and that kind of stuff.

Re: Hello, new member from Iceland.

On this photo you can see 3 econoliners one of them gave me air, my air pump was screwed. This vans have been popular in Iceland. I thing one of the reason is that for many years there was a US navy station over here and many of the vans came from the navy. In the later years they where importet straight from the states and many of them ended up on big tires.

ahhhh....nothing like a leisurely drive to a volcano eruption. That's a very cool and capable looking rig you've got there. Welcome aboard!

Re: Hello, new member from Iceland.

Those wheel openings are huge! I'd like to see how much you trim the metal to make them fit. Do you know where the flairs come from?

Re: Hello, new member from Iceland.

The flairs come from a local plastic store here in Iceland, they make boats and hot tubs to....... We have to use them here to be street legal.

here is a link to one of the producers. http://brettakantar.is/?skoda=myndir they make them for all kind of cars.

Over here we have always wanted to cut more metal and keep our trucks with lower ground clearance as many of them are used as daily drivers.
