That's not a Sportsmobile, as they are made in several factories in the USA. But it looks like a very nice home conversion job! Congrats.

I paid twice that for a 2005 Sporty. However, have a bath, etc. and it’s 20 feet long! I’d say you definitely got a REAL deal! Hope you have a great time with it.
BTW-for anyone in southern Colorado, there’s a pretty
decent looking camper van on Copper Gulch! They are asking $1000 ( I think) and have now put out what
appear to be a “ gaucho” bed and the table that is normally in a Sporty. Looks like a great deal if that’s correct ( and the engine runs)? Will check next time and let you know.

Looks like a pretty good deal - yet from your campground photo it looks like listing to passenger side a bit ? Shocks/springs issue - or it could be uneven terrain van is sitting on ? Park it level and check with a "level"?? Just sayin --

4x4
More solar
Etc..
Like you said.
Welcome....

Garage
Doesn't look like it was made by SMB, but it is very nice.

Yes, I think you got a great deal. I just sold my Sportsmobile last week. If your van was on the market today and I saw it, I would buy it. I still need something to camp in, but a Sportsmobile no longer meets my needs. Your van would be perfect.

Thanks everyone. I mainly got it because it was such a deal. But it's not really what I want. I'd like a bathroom and something i can stand up in. I'm thinking a Winnebago view would be better for me. But I'm going to keep using this over the winter to help me figure out what I really want, as this is my first RV/camper experience. Come spring/summer time it may very well be for sale. I really dont know yet. Maybe i'll fall in love with it. I mean, in a way i already have. Because the work on it is just so well done. I feel like i got pretty lucky finding it and buying it.

Add a high top for $5k and you’ll still be into it for way less than other options. Even if you decide to sell it afterwards you’ll get your investment back and likely a lot more.

Nice van. But if some "guy" did the conversion, it's not a "Sportsmobile" which is a copyrighted name for a company with several plants. It is a "super nice camper van conversion" though. Congrats.

Probably 50% of the vans talked about here or owned by forum members are not “Sportsmobiles.” Let it go. I have (speaking as a two-time owner of actual Sportsmobiles). The more common thing is to call any 4x4 van a Sportsmobile, even if it’s not a camper or doesn’t have a pop-top. [emoji35]
