Just finished my latest project! (Non Van Related).

I Just finished my 6th wooden boat. Its a Sam Devlin designed Pond Skipper Kayak. Its a Stitch and Glue boat (my 3rd Stitch and Glue build) I've been working on it longer than I care to discuss and its technically not finished. I still have some finishing touches to the outside and several things that need completed on the inside. I had a chance to put it in the family's farm pond before everybody else woke up this morning.

I have a couple of trips planned this Summer with it. I need a break from working on it, I basically spent all available time over the last two weeks to finish it.

Are you going to do overnight trips in it? Do you have any pictures of your other boats? Looks like a fun hobby.

I'm planning an overnighter soon. We have a busy April planned but I may be able to squeeze it in. I have some progress pics and some build pics that I can post up. A rack for the back would be a great way to lash some things down.

Are you going to run a skirt on it to keep the water out? An old wooden VW type rack modified to scale for the kayak would look trick.

Not planning a skirt but it is missing the coaming. We don't have the whitewater you folks have. There is two "waterproof" compartments. One in the bow and one in the stern. Two simple rails on the back deck would be nice!

Here are some build pics. After a while most of the pics I was taking were looking the same.

Some of the inside before sanding and finishing.

Bonding the oak sheer clamps, tube for rope handles (trying to keep the compartment water tight)

Can you ever have enough clamps?
