Lake Mead Waterfront Camp

Here is a photo from a Lake Mead trip last December. A perfect haunt for a Sportsmobile! It was in the 60's during the day and made for nice hiking. We saw several fairly large turtles floating around maybe 16 inches across--don't know the species as they bolted the minute they were approached. Lake Mead shoreline is easy to get into but more difficult to get out of particularly when wet. Lots of loose gravel and sand, and steep grades leaving the lake, but with reduced tire pressure and the courage knowing my State Farm "tow from anywhere" (including offload) policy would save me, it was worth it.
