Less building, more camping!

Though far from done, I'm ecstatic to be able to share that the family spent some time out using the van last weekend rather than just working on it!

We originally planned on staying at a campground recommended by coworkers, but after driving the loop to find it primarily occupied by big 5th wheel trailers as well as no more amenities than a pit toilet we decided that we should explore a bit and find a spot to boondock.

After a sidetrack hike and a bit of exploring we found a great spot at the end of a forest service road to call camp for the evening. The scene is a bit surreal showing evidence of a big burn that went through the area about 7 years ago contrasting with the vibrant green new growth.

While we are still working out the details of our packing systems and cooking setup, we know one thing for sure - van camping is awesome!

Sometimes the best way to make those decision is to use it. Cooking in the driveway just isn't the same as being out there.
Your rig looks great. What year is that?

Re: Less building, more camping!

Thanks guys! The van is a 1984. It seems to do pretty good for rig that is over 25 years old! Definitely looking forward to some more summer fun.
